During the Warring States Period of Eastern Zhou Dynasty (in simplified Chinese东周战国时期), the Wei country was the first that came into power among the 7 great powers. Since Wei Man Noble adopted Li, an official of the country, several reforms took place so that the country grew stronger and stronger. They conquered the Zhon Shan area and also defeated the Qi group for several times so that they gradually got some pieces of Qi land bit by bit.

On the other hand, Li led the army to defend against the attack of the Qin country and they were successful. They also started to mark targets in the country so that they could try to conquer them bit by bit.

Of course, when Wei grew stronger and stronger, other countries also tried to grow. The Qi country tried to reform and they gained success and were more and more prosperous. On the other hand, the Qin country appointed Shong as the leading official and he proposed a lot of beneficial policies which made the government more competitive and also for the army.

In 354BC, Wei used excuses to attack Zhao. Since Zhao was still growing, it tried to seek help from the Qi government. Qi government sent Sun to assist Zhao and Sun was a war talent who helped attacked Wei so that Wei once was at a disadvantage. However, Wei country was still a great power so that finally, ceasefire was signed with Wei still getting a bit benefits.

On the other hand, in the western part of the country, Qin started wars against different little countries and got victory. They started to expend their border and threatened the other 6 powers.

In 271BC, officials in Qin proposed the idea that Qin should make diplomatic relationship with countries located far away from Qin while should attack countries nearby and conquer them. This idea was adopted by Qin Chiu Noble and turned out to be great success. After Chiu’s death, his son, Yin, continued the policy and finally unified China again and established the Qin Dynasty.
